Garrett and Erica got to spend time with Eric today!!!! They wheeled his bed out by the patient elevator windows this afternoon so he could see them. The Respiratory Specialist was with Eric's nurse and he deflated the tube in Eric's trach so he could say something. His first words???? "Luke--I am your father". Classic Eric. Garrett thought that was pretty funny. He had a hard time talking but once the kids were gone, they practiced with him a little more and he did great! Hearing his voice again was music to my ears. The kids did well seeing him. Erica was a little shy at first but not Garrett. He was quizzing the nurse on every tube, machine, fluid and monitor reading that he saw. They both held Eric's hand and kissed him. It was beautiful. Now that the kids are gone, we're back in his "room". He is getting a blood transfusion tomorrow. They think it will help strengthen him a bit. He looks great and seems happy. I'm definitely happy!!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!

What a joker!! Tell Darth I'm glad he got to see the kids. How wonderful!! Tell him to keep up those baby steps. Hey, got any pics of Eric so we can make fun of him later??? :) Just kidding. we love you guys and pray for a total recovering.

What great news! We lifted Eric and your whole family up in prayer tonight at church and when I got home I read your latest update - there is power in prayer!! I have been thinking of you guys a lot and I am so glad that Eric is making progress! I know it gave him a little extra boost being able to see Garrett and Erica. We will continue to pray and see God answer. Take care of yourself and please let Eric know we are thinking of him!

Rhonda, I am so happy to hear the great news. I know the kids were so excited to finally see their daddy and I know it did Eric wonders too. We owe all our thanks to the great one above!!! We all knew Eric would pull through this. We can't wait to see ya'll again.

Knowing how Eric feels about Garrett and Erica and that they had the chance to visit with him finally, brought tears to my eyes.
My prayers like so many other's are being answered as he improves each day.

Eric and Rhonda you have been in everyone's prayers at Gateway. We love you guys so much ! And Eric I miss seeing you in the car line at school ! It use to make my day when I'd hear that voice yell out "Hey girl !" Then I'd run around to see that BIG BEAUTIFUL SMILE ! I can't wait to see you !!
