Rhonda is out of town, so I am the guest writer today. I am sitting with Eric this afternoon, listening to him talk. This has become something of a common occurrence - I told him just last week that I had not heard him talk like this in eight weeks, and it is true -he is speaking clearer and with more force now than he has since he was admitted to the hospital.
It is certainly a welcome development. This is not to say that everyday is the same, or that the progress made puts him where he was before his surgery, but for me, it has been a very comforting experience to have a conversation with a friend about topics great and small, and know that just as I can make myself be understood, Eric will be able to make himself be understood as well.

First of all, Thank you so much for setting this blog up Tom. I have enjoyed it and I know it has to do some good for Rhonda.
I'm glad you had a good visit with Eric. Please give him my love and tell him our prayers continue.
